Throughout the years Leighton Drilling Co. has drilled its way into the history and hearts of the local community.
From its humble beginnings, Leighton Drilling Co. has grown into a beacon of excellence in the drilling industry. Jim and Joan’s vision of a family-run business that prioritizes customer satisfaction, quality workmanship, and innovative solutions has been the guiding principle throughout the company’s history. Their dedication to building a successful business in drilling and installing water wells, geothermal drilling, and miscellaneous drilling operations has laid a solid foundation for the company’s enduring success.
A Family Affair
The Leighton legacy is not just built on drilling; it’s built on family. From a young age, Jimmy Leighton, the couple’s son, was introduced to the family business. Starting to help at the tender age of 14, Jimmy quickly became an integral part of the company. By 19, he was fully immersed, dedicating his life to the family enterprise and ensuring its continued success.
Kelli Myers, the couple’s daughter, also played a crucial role in the company’s operations. Working in the office for years alongside her mother, Kelli’s contributions helped streamline the administrative side of the business, ensuring that Leighton Drilling Co. ran like a well-oiled machine.
Passing the Torch
In the early 2000s, the family welcomed a new member into the business – Brad, Jimmy’s son-in-law. Brad brought fresh energy and ideas to the company, eventually taking charge of the service department. Under his leadership, Leighton Drilling Co. expanded its offerings to include the installation of pumps, waterlines, pressure systems, cisterns, and small water line and cistern excavation services.
In 2008, a significant milestone marked the company’s history as Jimmy took over the business. With a deep respect for the company’s legacy and an eye towards the future, Jimmy renamed it Leighton Drilling Co. Thus, ushering in a new era of innovation and growth.
